There have been a lot of parents over the past year who have become unwilling homeschoolers (or remote schoolers), with varying degrees of success. The kids, too, are coping – some of them enjoying it better than others.
The important thing is that we’re all still laughing our way through it, and if you need a pick-me-up yourself, these 11 parents are here to give you the giggles.
11. We’ve adjusted our expectations.
I think that’s an important lesson for kids, don’t you?

10. I’m sorry but this is hilarious.
I would totally do something like this.
So how is homeschooling going? pic.twitter.com/mZqetIWdFT

9. What a missed opportunity.
I bet teachers are going to take advantage of it going forward.

8. We’ve done our time.
Ask Alexa. She’s always helpful.
7. Oh, sweet summer child.
None of us had any idea how far we had to travel.
Homeschooling, Day 1: My 8-year-old asked if we were done for the day. It’s 9:17. We started at 9.

6. We didn’t think it was sustainable.
And yet, here we are.
Day 1 of homeschooling: Parents start drinking alcohol at 8pm.
Day 2 of homeschooling: Parents start drinking alcohol at 5pm.
Day 3 of homeschooling: Parents start drinking alcohol at midday.
Day 4 of homeschooling: Parents are pouring gin on their breakfast cereal.

5. It’s called life skills, kid.
No, there will be no teacher’s evaluation at the end of this.

4. Everyone is a comedian.
Even when they’re not being funny at all.
telling my 6 year old about homeschooling for the next couple months and he asked if i had to do that when i was a kid and i said no and then he asked if chairs were even invented yet, so i think the first thing we’ll study is his fucking attitude.

3. This has to be a joke, right?
Talk about useless knowledge.
Anyone struggling with homeschooling should know that, despite having a PhD in Literature and having published 12 books, I only learned what a fronted adverbial was when my 8 year old's teacher said he doesn't use enough of them in his written work.

2. Hahaha they thought they were being funny.
And then a year passed…
This is Amy, 34 years old, after homeschooling for a week.
But in all seriousness, thank you so much for all your sacrifices to help prevent the NHS from becoming overwhelmed 🙏
We will get through this together x pic.twitter.com/JGyYihSpa7

1. Mom makes the rules, y’all.
You’re in her tipsy world now.
I just gave the kids extra credit for helping carry my wine from the car to the house. Shutup, I'm the teacher now and it's fine. Everything's fine.

We’re all muddling through this, and summer is almost here. But right now it’s Spring and we’ve got a few more months to get through, so please share this with all of those friends who need it.
And let us know how you’re feelings in the comments.
Cheers to that, right?
