Everyone loves unlikely animal friendships. Everyone. For me, that goes double if the animals in question are mismatched or truly adversaries in a normal, everyday view of things.
Enter Belgian shepherd Ingo and one-year-old owl Napoleon (he goes by Poldi).
According to Tanja Brandt, the wildlife photographer who took the photos, the relationship between Ingo and Poldi is “somewhat of a ‘protector-protected’ relationship.” Ingo is a guardian for Poldi who “doesn’t know how to live free.”
Ingo comes from a family of police dogs, while Poldi has always been small – he didn’t hatch until two full days after his brothers and sisters!
The two play together, snuggle, and generally make the most out of being friends.
I don’t know about you, but I sure would like to spend a day lying in the fields with these two!
